I have order 4cu feet sealed enclosure for two 15 drivers. It
is relatively small box but I need to hit minus 6-8 dB at 50Hz. The collection
of the drivers I have would be following: Vitavox AK51 and 15/40, Altec 416B
and 515B. I like Vitavox tone...

T, also if you knockewd up a small monitor then let me give you a lead that you might or not might find worth attention. I did a few monitors in my past and I have learned that whatever boards or woofs I used it always had sound and partially if you ...

I too want a monitor speaker to play with, especially for amplifier experimentation.I put another 4" Fostex in a sealed "box" (globe actually) and crossed it over at 150hz to one SS 25w/8565 on the side. Wishful thinking? -Yes.About 88-90dB sensitive...

Yes, I bought a few jacks, they are not expensive, I can buy a lot of more. I put them under the floor, assuring that the floor does not “play” anymore but there is one big but in all of it. Those intellectual attacking of the floor’s mode have absol...

Good luck getting midrange from F120A for non annoying monitors. Seems reasonable to expect, many people have been very happy with these drivers... I haven't tried this specific driver, but have spent some time trying to get a simila...

Well, the only thing I can think of is to seal them and keep 'em that way. I've made only a couple of vented enclosures and they have all ended up being sealed or severely aperiodic. Even if the Mini's are moved back, it is unlikely that they would...

I have posted this idea at the Peter’s Vitavox site a few month back but there is no activity at that site. It sucks that there are no advanced S2 users out there. I am planning to try it myself and in a month or so and will report the result. ...

I love not only the beautiful results you are getting, Jessie, but also appreciate that the methods you are adopting allow you to continue to refine your horns on the fly. Particularly nice, to my way of thinking, is that you can tune your horn...

Hi Romy,So it is time to think about the bass output transformer in my DSET. My bass channel will be 8 x 25W/8565-00 each side set in a sealed box and will cover the frequency range below say 100Hz. These drivers can be wired anywhere between 1R an...

Yes, for practical reasons, one side of an IB driver is usually "wrapped and sealed" to deliver lower frequencies from the other side, since it is generally impractical to actually make a baffle large enough to prevent sonic shorts. However, at high...

If the setup is semi acceptable, after ten years one should lose the evaluation part of listening experience and treat the system like a kitchen radio or car playback and simply enjoy the music. I think ten years is a minimum to achieve the position ...

[quote user="jessie.dazzle"] I have 2 ULF "boxes"; each has an 18" McCauley 6174.
The enclosures are sealed and each measures 14 cubic feet. They are made from 70mm thick concrete blocks.
Power is from a pair of M1.1 amps (100 Watts each)....

When my midbass horns projects will be finished the horns will be peaty much organic part of house and without looking at this thread an ordinary person would never understand what is behind and what it is for. When we look at reasoning for Carnac St...

Similar experience but I get to keep my "old" room. I have just changed my 5 way horn loaded down to 140 hz speakers to a friends room twice as big as mine, with an open back area into the house as your new room has and one side and the front have hu...

Hello NBC,
If you have the space, and the sense of humor, go with a large pair of SEALED enclosures.
If done right, it will change your life.
